The collaboration between University of Helsinki and 3AMK had its kick-off event Viikki Science Day on monday 30th of January. The event was a big success as there were a lot of visitors and all the arrangements went great.
Viikki Science Day started with opening words from Tomi Taira, the vice-dean of research and Faculty member of Veterinary Medicine. After that the research groups gave their presentations which were excellent and very well presented. The subjects focused on agriculture, forestry, bio- and veterinary sciences and pharmacy. Time flew by as the presentations were exeptionally professional and compelling!
In the end the visitors got to meet the researchers on their posters and chat with them about interesting research topics. There was also guidance available on how to apply for a PhD study for anyone interested. In the midst of visiting the posters, everyone got to enjoy some refreshments.
Visitors voted on the best poster or presentation, and both the winner and one lucky voter got awarded. Congratulations to both winners!
