Entrepreneurial cooperation of the 3AMK Universities of Applied Sciences, Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia, expands. The Innovation Fund of the City of Helsinki granted funding for the 3AMK Entrepreneurship Society Alliance -project. A three-year project brings together the Entrepreneurship Society activity of the Metropolitan area’s three biggest universities of applied sciences. In addition to Innovation Fund, the cities of Espoo and Vantaa participate in the total funding of the project.
Aim of the project is to increase the reach and impact of the Entrepreneurship Society -activity in all three universities of applied sciences. 3AMK ES Alliance increases students’ knowledge of entrepreneurship through developing and testing activities, such as event concepts an entrepreneurship projects. The project deepens 3AMK’s Entrepreneurial Excellence’s work and expands the student-driven activities.
”Student-driven entrepreneurship societies have very different opportunities to promote student collaboration. We expect a lot from student-organizations in this project”, says project manager Mikko Järvinen.
The importance of the entrepreneurship society -activity (LaureaES, Xes Helsinki and MetEs) is mainly in creating networks and offering tools for enterprise experiments. Through ES-activities, students from different fields get to collaborate in a way that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. The project benefits both students and economic life of the Metropolitan area.
“Our aim is to spark interest in entrepreneurial education and increase the number of students that use the entrepreneurial services inside the 3AMK’s”, says Hannele Mennala, the leader of Haaga-Helia StartUp School and the 3AMK Entrepreneurial Excellence -collaboration area.
“Entrepreneurship societies can inspire students towards enterprise, and the entrepreneurship services of the schools can process those business ideas further”, Järvinen adds.
3AMK ES-alliance organizes events, lectures, excursions and workshops. Many of the events are also open for non-students. The project continues until 2022 and it’s coordinated by Haaga-Helia StartUp School.
Information about the events will be updated in the webpages of 3AMK, Haaga-Helia StartUp School and the Entrepreneurship Societies.
