Discover your Career Path in Finland (5 op)

Are you navigating the Finnish job market for the first time? Struggling to secure a work placement or job opportunity? Would you like to gain a profound insight into the Finnish job market and make your application documents stand out from the other applications?

This intensive course will give you a comprehensive insight into the different career paths and employment opportunities in Finland. It will also help you to meet challenges of the job search process. This course is designed specifically for international bachelor’s degree students who are motivated to build their careers in Finland.

This is unique 3AMK collaboration course, which is coordinated by Haaga-Helia UAS.

Enrollment period: 30th of May – 19th of August 2024

Schedule: 27th of August – 31st of Otober 2024 | Contact studies at Haaga-Helia Pasila campus, independent virtual studies and possible visit to a company/organization/recruiment event (will be announced later).

Kick of: 27th of August at 3pm to 5:30 pmon Haaga-Helia Pasila campus. Participation on the kick-off in person is obligatory.

Independent work: 28th of August – 11th of October on Moodle platform

Intensive week: Workshops in Haaga-Helia Pasila campus on Mon, Wed and Fri during week 42 (14th – 18th of October)

Learning platform: Haaga-Helia’s Moodle, log in with Haaga-Helia user ID | If you do not have active Haaga-Helia user ID, you will receive it after the enrollment period.

  • Visits to workplaces, organizations, or recruitment events
  • Utilizing AI in job search
  • Decoding job advertisements and tailoring applications accordingly
  • Leveraging networking for finding job opportunitie
  • Writing compelling CVs and cover letters that resonate in the Finnish job market
  • Independent learning in the online platform Moodle
  • Active discussions
  • Writing a final report and completing learning assingments

Entering the Finnish job market might require quite a different approach from what you are used to in other countries. This course focuses on familiarizing international students with the specific requirements of the Finnish job market. By the end of the course, you will:

  • learn what attributes recruiters appreciate the most in Finland
  • learn how to write compelling CVs and cover letters that are tailored to a specific job
  • gain tips for job searching in Finland
  • get to know why networking is an essential part of career-building
  • getting familiar with digital tools and platforms that will help you with job searching and creating contemporary application documents
  • learn why in job-searching strategy almost always quality beats quantity
